Toule Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields at Cheoung EkToule Sleng was a former high school that the Khmer Rouge turned into a prison. Pol Pot's regime imprisoned thousands of people there, torturing many of them. Most were killed and buried in Cheoung Ek, just outside the city.

Siem ReapSiem Reap is the province where most of the Angkor-era temples were built. It's also the name of the town near the temples where we stayed.

Temples: Angkor ThomThe Ankgor Thom temple complex is home to the elaborate and detailed Bayon temple.

Temples: Angkor WatThe greatest of the Angkor temples. These photos can't possibly do it justice; Angkor Wat should be on your list of things to see before you die.

Temples: Ta ProhmTa Prohm, also called the jungle temple, was our favorite. It lies largely in ruins and is overgrown with huge trees.

SihanoukvilleCambodia's only deep-water port, Sihanoukville sits on the Gulf of Thailand.
